When is the best time to get pregnant?
The short answer is when you are ready to bring a child into the world.
Fate can often be so cruel – those who aren’t planning to fall pregnant do and their lives are turned upside down, and those who are planning and hoping and expending huge amounts of time, energy and money on conceiving often cannot, with harsh consequences.
Conventional wisdom suggests the best time to conceive is between 20 and 35 years. This is considered the best time because you are young and strong enough to cope with child birth and rearing and your body should be in a relatively good physical condition.
Generally speaking we are healthier than previous generations and modern medicine is enabling us to live longer. Many people delay having babies for financial and other reasons, thinking they have time and modern medicine on their side. Sadly this is not the case. Aging is inevitable and a woman’s eggs age as she does. After 35 a woman’s fertility is in decline, dropping to almost half of what it was by the age of 40.
Once the decision is made to conceive everything comes down to timing. The precise ovulation date can be calculated beforehand with an ovulation calendar, if necessary. Presuming both sets of reproductive organs are healthy, daily intercourse in the days leading to ovulation and on the day you ovulate would increase the likelihood of conception. This should ensure a healthy supply of sperm will be present in the fallopian tube when an egg is released. It is important to note that sperm can live for three to five days, but the egg is receptive for only 12 to 24 hours.
Astrology as a therapy is all about time. There can be up to three astrologically fertile moments in a year in anyone’s chart, at child bearing age and being aware of these times can help considerably.
Most doctors will agree with the statement that sometimes when conception is not happening, especially where there are no specific problems, that it is simply “not the right time”. Of course this is not comforting to the patient, who is usually desperate to fall pregnant, but an astrologer can help by pin-pointing those fertile moments in a chart and getting the couple to accept the nature of time and patience.
Astrology teaches us that there is a time for everything, and no amount of technology can manipulate our Fate. We can use Astrology to identify the times when we are most likely to conceive and even then, there is no guarantee, just an increased chance of conception.
